USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, April 11
Baltimore, Md. (April 9, 2025) – The Â鶹´«Ã½ (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 11. The board will convene at Towson University in the University Union (Ballroom D).

Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
At a special breakfast reception before the Friday morning public session, the board will recognize winners of the 2025 Regents Faculty Awards.
The board will hear an education forum, “Civic Education and Community Engagement Council: A Year in Review,” presented by USM Associate Vice Chancellor for Education & Engagement Jennifer Lynch.
The board will vote on several action items, including new academic programs at Frostburg State University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The board also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include meetings with three presidents as part of their performance reviews, awarding of contracts for advertising and marketing, student counseling, dining, cloud and software, update on status of collective bargaining at USM institutions, ratification briefings regarding three institution labor MOUs, a pre-negotiation briefing regarding an institution labor MOU, an information update regarding specific personnel contracts, an administrative matter regarding an internal board assessment, discussion with legal counsel about the implications of recent federal actions, nominations for student scholarship awards, and a real property acquisition by an institution.
